Celebrate National Science Week at Waverley Library by delving into the world of Citizen Science, with the recently published book, Exploring Nature Through Citizen Science, as our guide! Citizen science is the collaboration between everyday people and professional scientists to conduct real research - anyone can do it!

We're excited to bring authors Cam Slatyer and Thomas Mesaglio to Waverley Library, for an evening of scientific opportunities and new discoveries. They'll share insights from the book including the various types of projects available, how to get involved, what data and photos to collect and best practices. This lively discussion hopes to ignite the scientist within!

Love to knit or crochet? Want to create warm wraps to help those in need? Then join our Waverley Library Wrap with Love Group, where you can create 25cm x 25cm squares that are sewn into a wrap to benefit less privileged communities. This relaxed and friendly group is open to all skill levels, and beginners will be provided with basic instructions to start them off on their square journey. Attendees must bring their own supplies, which includes size 4 needles or size 4 crochet hook and 8 ply yarn of any colour.

Join us at Bondi’s best kept secret, the hidden rainforest at Thomas Hogan Reserve.

Enjoy a special nature-based story time and play session, designed for children of walking age and older (siblings are also welcome).

We’ve planted this event in the middle of science week at our favourite outdoor venue, where you’ll discover adoptable stick-insects, flora and fauna inspired intentional play, and have the opportunity to connect with other carers, families and friends.

This event encourages curiosity, creativity, and a connection with country, and is made possible with the support of Bondi Beach Playgroups, Waverley Council and Waverley Library.

Swing into our Jungle Storytime and Play! We'll be sharing jungle-themed stories, creating fun animal crafts and exploring through play as we discover creatures from the jungle.

This program is perfect for children aged 3 - 5 years of age, their families, and friends. Please note, Parents/caregivers must stay with their child for the duration of this event.
