The Waverley Youth Art Prize is an annual celebration of creativity for young artists aged 9 to 18 from Sydney’s Eastern Beaches.be filled with.

Holiday Rhyme Time will capture the imaginations of children with stories, rhymes and song. This event is perfect for all children aged 0-5 years, their families and friends.

Registrations are not required for this event, please drop in to any session and join us. Caregivers must stay with their children for the duration of this event.

Love to knit or crochet? Want to create warm wraps to help those in need? Then join our Waverley Library Wrap with Love Group, where you can create 25cm x 25cm squares that are sewn into a wrap to benefit less privileged communities. This relaxed and friendly group is open to all skill levels, and beginners will be provided with basic instructions to start them off on their square journey. Attendees must bring their own supplies, which includes size 4 needles or size 4 crochet hook and 8 ply yarn of any colour.

Ready to start your crochet journey? Then join us for a beginner crochet class where you'll be shown the mindful art of creating granny squares!

The class will provide step-by-step instructions with hands-on assistance and endless encouragement. All equipment (hooks and yarn) will be provided but feel free to bring our own if you'd prefer. You can take home any squares you complete, along with written instructions to help you continue your craft.

Since the late 1800’s granny squares have been the corner stone of crochet creation. The traditional granny square starts at the center and then grows, round by round, until it ends up a square. Constructed of just three stitches, chain stitch, double crochet stitch and slip stitch, the granny square can be made in a large variety of stitch combinations to create different shaped and sized squares.
