Tax Deductible Donations

  • Waverley Library is endorsed by the Australian Taxation Office as a Deductible Gift Recipient
  • Most gifts to the library may be claimed as tax deductions
  • Gifts may be cash, property, cultural gifts or bequests eg: significant collections of books or historical photographs. These gifts can be used by the library.
  • The amount of the deduction will depend on the type of gift. For cash, it is the amount of the gift. For other gifts, valuations (which may also be tax deductible) are required. The general rule is that the amount of the deduction is the average of two or more written valuations made by valuers approved by the Departments of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts. The library can provide a list of approved valuers.
  • All cash donations of $2 or more are tax deductible.
  • GST is not applicable to these donations.

If you would like to make a tax deductible donation to the Library, a receipt to will be issued to enable you to claim a tax deduction.
