In the Kimberley region of Western Australia, a young Indigenous boy named Pete lives with his grandfather in an old abandoned drive-in. A mining company threatens their home with demolition, so Pete, along with his friend, set off to the city in order to save it. Along the way they become lost in the outback which forces Pete to draw on the traditional knowledge his grandfather has taught him. The film highlights the tension between modern development and Indigenous culture.
