This film is about John, a lonely council worker responsible for finding the next of kin for those who have died alone. John is meticulous in his investigations but his manager is condescending and unappreciative of his hard work. His life then takes a turn for the better when he investigates the case of a deceased man whose life he pieces together through old photographs and letters. As he searches for this man's family and friends, John begins to reflect on his own solitude and the meaning of human connection.
