July The Beast: Electric vehicle charging stations launch
Electric vehicle charging stations launch
Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick councils have become the first councils in NSW to provide public on-street electric vehicle (EV) charging stations.
From 5 June, EV owners will be able to charge on the go at Queen Elizabeth Drive, Bondi Beach, Spring Street, Bondi Junction, Kiaora Place shopping centre, Double Bay, Coogee Beach, Randwick Community Centre and the Silver Street car park, Randwick.
The project will help reduce carbon emissions from transport in Sydney’s east and encourage EV uptake.
Charging stations are booked and paid for using Chargefox app.
Bondi Winter Magic and Bondi Feast
Bondi will again be transformed into Sydney’s premier winter playground by the sea for Bondi Winter Magic, 28 June to 28 July 2019.
The Waverley Council event draws around 60,000 visitors to Bondi Pavilion each year for the famous beachside ice rink, Bondi Vista 22 metre-high ferris and Bondi History Walks.
It includes Bondi Feast, our famous fringe-style winter festival celebrating the best in award-winning comedy, cabaret, theatre and circus from 9 to 20 July at Bondi Pavilion Theatre and festival garden.
The Bondi Winter Magic program also includes Bondi & District Chamber of Commerce’s On the Streets program- a blend of art, culture and Music on the Streets.
For Bondi Feast tickets, visit https://www.bondifeast.com.au/
Water restrictions from June 1
Sydney’s water supply is running low. Level 1 restrictions will save water by limiting how and when we use drinking water outdoors. They apply to everyone including residents and businesses. Let’s rally together and make saving water second nature. Visitwww.sydneywater.com.au to check what restrictions mean for you.
Winter school holiday program
Waverley Council offers a diverse school holiday program with the aim of catering for an array of interests, and ages.
The program includes both free and paid activities at Waverley Library, Bondi Pavilion, and the Margaret Whitlam Recreation Centre.
To book, visit https://www.waverley.nsw.gov.au/shp
- Waverley Mayor John Wakefield.
