20 Mar: 2019 Lifeguard Challenge

Home Grown

Our ever popular Home Grown concert is back for another year on Friday, 29 March at Bondi Pavilion.

Home Grown is a fabulous night of band performances that celebrate the wealth of musical talent in the Waverley community.

The community told us that they wanted a way to showcase the area’s emerging artists. We listened and Home Grown is the result.

This year’s performing artists The Distractions, Ella Haber and Lion each have a unique sound and passion for performing.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for concessions. Under 18s are free. To book, visit https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/home-grown-tickets-56540221324.

Lifeguard Challenge

On Sunday, 17 March, lifeguards from Waverley, Randwick and Sutherland Shire braved large swells and torrential rain for the annual Lifeguard Challenge, a gruelling 30 kilometre swim, paddle and run from Bondi to Cronulla in aid of the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Foundation.

It took the 25 lifeguards just under four and-a-half hours to complete the challenge, which has so far raised more than $11,000. To donate, visit https://www.schf.org.au/fundraisers/lifeguardchallenge2019.
