17 Apr: Bronte Beach Village Streetscape Upgrade

Bronte Beach Village Streetscape Upgrade

I held a meeting recently with key stakeholders in the Bronte Beach Village Streetscape Upgrade project to discuss how our proposed works aim to significantly improve pedestrian safety and amenity in the area.

Council has consulted with the community several times on this project and the design is based on feedback received from the community through the Have Your Say Waverley Consultation 2016/2017 and the Bronte Plan of Management.

Change can sometimes bring uncertainty, but I would like to assure the Bronte community that our proposed streetscape improvements will make Bronte Beach Village safer for all including those who frequent the many cafes or take the bus.

Similar works have been implemented successfully in other parts of Waverley such as the Seven Ways at North Bondi to improve pedestrian safety and activate commercial activity.

The project’s Review of Environmental Factors (REF) report is available to read on our website. The REF, including submissions received during the public exhibition period in January and February, were assessed by an external planning consultant.
