15 Jan: Bushfire assistance and online safety

Bushfire assistance

I would like to thank the Waverley community for its outpouring of support for bushfire ravaged communities in NSW and Victoria. Volunteer organisations including Bondi Surf Bathers Life Saving Club have been inundated with donations of items, and the Council supports these efforts through logistical support and other means. The best way to help now is by donating money to the various charities, and every bit counts. We are also in contact with councils in fire affected communities to see how best we can assist.

Safety online

Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 11 February is an opportunity for families to start the conversation about online safety in the community. It coincides with the launch of the NSW eSafety Commissioner’s new website helping young people be safe online. The website has lots of great resources about how to be cyber safe.
