12 June: Marks Park accessible pathway

Council has begun works to upgrade Marks Park, Tamarama to provide more ways to enjoy the spectacular view!

The new pathway will provide step-free continuous access around the entire perimeter of the park for all members of the community including people with a disability and families with prams.

New swings and slide on a soft-fall surface are features of the new playground.

The access and inclusion upgrades works will also include new access stairs to Mackenzies Point, turf remediation, irrigation improvements, low rise vegetation and steep slope stabilisation.

Feedback received through community and stakeholder consultation over several years informed our plans for the upgrades.

The upgrades are in response to community needs and meet Council’s obligations under Commonwealth and State government disability Inclusion laws.

Works including the pathway will be completed in September ahead of the world-leading Sculpture by the Sea exhibition, 24 October to 10 November 2019.

It’s a win for all, so enjoy the views!
