11 Sept: Bondi Pavilion Restoration Project and Bronte Surf Club Upgrade

Bondi Pavilion restoration works to start

Works to restore the roof of the gatehouse at the rear of the Pavilion started yesterday. The Bondi Pavilion Conservation Management Plan (CMP) identified the original Spanish-style terracotta tiles to be used and these will dramatically improve the appearance of the Pavilion from all aspects. These first stage works will give residents and visitors a taste of the look and feel of what the tiles and colour configuration will look like on the entire roof.

These roof works are expected to last approximately three weeks and be complete by the end of September. The main project will commence in February 2020 through stages until tenants vacate in May 2020. This will ensure the functioning of the building during the busy summer period.

Bronte Surf Club upgrade

Waverley Council in partnership with Bronte Surf Life Saving Club (SLSC) has announced it will embark on a proposed $9 million redevelopment of the club and community amenities building.

The new building aims to deliver a modern and sustainable new surf club and improved public change room, toilets and shower facilities.

The Club, amenities facility, and promenade next to the Club will all be upgraded.
