- Temporary bus diversions in Bondi Junction until November
Temporary bus diversions in Bondi Junction until November
13 September 2021
Bus diversions are now in place for services travelling into Bondi Junction from Bondi Road and Old South Head Road as works continue on the Bondi Junction Cycleway and Streetscape Project along a section of Oxford Street.
Temporary route diversions are in place for 333, 380, 381, 326, 327, 386, 387 and 379 buses for the next 11 weeks.
333, 380 and 381 buses travelling from Bondi Road towards Bondi Junction Interchange will be diverted onto Adelaide Street and Grafton Street, 24 hours a day.
326, 327, 386, 387 and 379 buses travelling from Old South Head Road towards the Interchange will be diverted via Edgecliff Road between Kendall Street and Grosvenor Street, between 7am and 7pm. At night, from 7pm to 7am, these services will continue to travel along Old South Head Road and Oxford Street and be diverted via Adelaide Street and Grafton Street.
The map below shows the temporary diversions. Note that bus services from Bondi Junction towards Bondi Rd and Old South Head Road and are not affected.
Two diversion routes have been chosen as they best support traffic and pedestrian safety whilst maintaining network reliability and reducing the impact on the road network. TfNSW and Waverley Council apologise for the impact these temporary diversions may have on some customers.
Bus stop closures are in place to facilitate these detours. Signage will direct customers to their nearest alternative bus stop. The taxi rank on the corner of Grosvenor Street and Oxford Street remains opens.
To plan your trip, visit transportnsw.info or call Transport Info on 131 500.
The Bondi Junction Cycleway and Streetscape Project is part of a $240 million investment by the Australian and NSW Governments to stimulate the economy as it recovers from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Waverley Council and TfNSW are using this funding to install new walking and cycling paths and adding greenery to footpath areas and community spaces to enhance the vibrancy of Bondi Junction.
