Garage Sale Trail is about to hit Waverley

Australia’s biggest weekend of garage sales is just around the corner, with the annual Garage Sale Trail taking place on Saturday 19 October and Sunday 20 October.

What started out as a grass roots campaign nine years ago in Bondi Beach has now turned into a national movement to minimise waste, with more than 140 councils across the country participating in the event.

Garage Sale Trail provides the perfect opportunity for the Waverley community to find new treasures, meet new neighbours and re-home goods that may otherwise end up in landfill.

Mayor of Waverley, Paula Masselos said Garage Sale Trail is an easy and fun way to help reduce landfill.

“Waverley Council has long been a supporter of this important event. The community spirit that we see when locals band together to do good for the environment, whilst celebrating the weird and wonderful things that we own is part of the reason why Garage Sale Trail has become such a national success since its inception here in Bondi nine years ago. This year promises to be one of the biggest, with more than 100 stalls already registered across Waverley.”
