- Bondi Ocean Lovers Festival, 11 to 14 April
Bondi Ocean Lovers Festival, 11 to 14 April
26 February 2019
Waverley Council proudly supports the Bondi Ocean Lovers Festival, 11-14 April 2019.
Ironwoman Lizzie Welborn, surfer Maev Kerri Fitzpartick, former Sydney to Hobart skipper Bob Wilmont and filmmaker George Miller are just some of the big names supporting the inaugural Bondi Ocean Lovers Festival on 11 to 14 April.
The event showcases practical and fun ways people can help care for our oceans through a range of free and ticketed events being held across Bondi including our iconic Bondi Pavilion.
Tickets go on sale in March through Humanitix. You can also become an Ocean Lovers volunteer here.
Event founder Anita Kolni, of Bondi, has been a passionate supporter of our blue planet ever since she was a child. Anita is the daughter of two-time Olympic sailor, Jorgen Kolni, and sister of Sweedish Olympian, Peter Kolni.
Highlights of the event include:
- Waste No More art exhibition at Bondi Pavilion Gallery
- Australia’s own film and conservation legend George Miller, an Ocean Lovers Ambassador, will open a three day film program to feature family friendly, fun surf and ocean wildlife films as well as impact environmental films through collaborations with The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation and Mission Blue as well as exceptional local filmmakers like the team from Blue The Film and The Map to Paradise.
- Celebrity tag team surfing event, Surfrider Foundation Gromfest and an Ocean Lovers lap of Bondi organised by festival ambassador and ironwoman, Lizzie Welborn
- Marina Debris 'Trashion' Parade
- Guinness Book of Record attempt for the most number for swim caps recorded on a beach (Sunday 13 April).
