Waverley Council congratulates our Brightest and Best local businesses!
15 November 2018
Waverley Council congratulates our Brightest and Best local businesses!
The winners of the Waverley Brightest and Best Local Business Awards were announced last night at a stellar gala dinner held at Easts Leagues Club, Bondi Junction.
Waverley Mayor, John Wakefield, was proud to present Hunter Labour Hire, Bondi Junction, with the award for Business of the Year. Hunter Labour Hire also won the award for Professional Services. Brenda Miley from Lets Go Surfing- Bondi was named Business Person of the Year. Lets Go Surfing also won the award for Specialised Business.
The awards, now in their 13th year, recognise, promote and reward the contributions hard-working businesses make to Waverley’s thriving economy.
Waverley Council is a major sponsor of the awards which were hosted for the first time by Precedent Productions.
Mayor Wakefield said the finalists were leaders in their field, creative, innovative, and delivered excellent customer service.
“Small business is a critical component of the local economy and a major contributor to our area’s live-ability and vitality,” Mayor Wakefield said.
“Waverley is home to more than 34,000 actively trading businesses. With a population of 72,000 people that’s a ratio of two people for every business.”
Steve Loe, Managing Director, Precedent Productions said: “While only one business from each category can be recognised as a winner, the achievements of all finalists are worth being recognised and celebrated”.
“The finalists’ excitement was palpable and, as always, people celebrated not just their own success, but cheered for everyone else in the room,” Mr Loe said.
Waverley Council would like to thank all the sponsors who supported last night’s event.
