Bondi Beach set for a bumper February of fun
Bondi will host a bumper program of events across February, from a beloved band’s beachfront concert to a fabulous party celebrating all things pop, as Australia’s most famous beach redefines itself as the home of fun.
Sydney’s newest summer ritual, Golden Hour, arrives on Friday 20 February, featuring a performance by iconic group Crowded House, joined by singer-songwriter Thelma Plum.
The next day, the world-famous pop festival Mighty Hoopla Sydney makes its Australian debut with four epic stages and roster of star acts like Kesha, Becky Hill, Jessica Mauboy, Delta Goodrem and more.
“Waverley Council is looking forward to having two large-scale marquee events come to Bondi,” Waverley Mayor Will Nemesh said.
“The Bondi community is an incredibly resilient one. There is a determination to come together and remember all the things that make our home by the sea so special and unique”.
“It is more important than ever for locals and visitors alike to embrace everything our beloved beach and community has to offer.”
Adelle Robinson, chief executive of event organiser Fuzzy, which is staging Golden Hour and Mighty Hoopla, said: “February is shaping up to be a memorable celebration of live music and community in Waverley.
“From the timeless sounds of Crowded House at Golden Hour to the colour and joy of Mighty Hoopla Sydney, these events bring people together and showcase how special live music can be when it’s experienced in beautiful spaces.”
Those two major events are just the beginning of Bondi’s fantastic February which will also see Bondi businesses shine.
