Join Climate Action Week Sydney, 9 - 15 March 2026, to share ideas, solutions, and inspire practical climate action.

It’s a time to come together, share ideas and take practical steps toward a more sustainable future. From reducing waste and rethinking how we travel, to supporting local initiatives and protecting our coastline, there are many ways you can take climate action in Waverley.

Climate Action Week is about empowering the community to turn intention into action. Whether you’re just starting your sustainability journey or already leading the way, this week is an opportunity to learn, connect and be part of positive change - right here in Waverley.

Waverley Council is proud to host and support three local events to connect and share knowledge with our community, and spark meaningful climate conversations.

9 March - Circular Economy Collage Workshop 5:30PM - 8:30PM

Join us at the Mill Hill Centre for a fun and collaborative Circular Economy Collage — a 3-hour interactive workshop designed to help participants understand current production and consumption patterns and explore practical solutions for building a more sustainable future.

11 March - Managing Climate Risks and Building Resilience 12:30PM - 2PM

Come to the Pavilion to learn about how projected climate data is increasingly informing decisions for asset managers, governments and businesses, and Waverley Council's approach to assessing and adapt to local climate risks.

12 March - Solar & Battery Information Night 6PM - 7:15PM

Join us at the Mill Hill Centre for a free information session with local solar expert Ethan Burns for everything solar, including available incentives and rebates for batteries, shared solar and applying Council’s new Solar Panels in Heritage guidelines.

1 - 31 March - Ocean Lovers Festival

Each March, Ocean Lovers brings tens of thousands of people together to experience the ocean through science, innovation, creativity and hands-on discovery, showcasing world-leading research and practical solutions for protecting our ocean. Come say Hi! to our Second Nature team on 21 - 22 March at Bondi Markets at the Second Nature stall.

8 March – International Women’s Day Clothing Swap 10AM – 12PM

Waverley College, 131 Birrell St, Waverley at the R.J Wallace Performing Arts Centre Foyer.

Join Waverley College and take part in their Clothes Swap - a simple way to reduce waste, refresh your wardrobe, and come together for positive change! Please bring a small donation if you are not bringing in clothes to swap.

15 March - Snorkel-Out For Climate 2.0 8AM - 10:30AM

Building off their successful Australian First Snorkel-Out for Climate in 2025, Divers for Climate are going BIGGER and BETTER!

15 March - Snorkel Out & Dive In - Climate Cafe 11:30AM - 1PM 

Clovelly Beach, Clovelly.

After you Snorkel Out for Climate, dive into a Climate Café with Divers for Climate, ECOMIND, and Psychology for a Safe Climate. In this peer-led convo, you'll come together with other ocean lovers to share your climate grief, anger and hope around the future of our oceans.
