Winners Announcement of the 2025 Waverley Garden Awards

We are so excited to announce the winners of the 2025 Waverley Garden Awards. The Garden Awards took place on Saturday 15 November at the historic Bronte House. Attended by Deputy Mayor of Waverley Clr Kerry Spooner along with councillors, Clr Katherine Westwood, Clr Margaret Merton and Clr Lauren Townsend.
The awards celebrate gardening in all its forms and recognise our many local green thumbs, like Jacq Parkes of Wayside Chapel Bondi, who won the Special Street and Shared Gardens Category. Jacq shared that their volunteer-run garden has had a tremendously positive effect on the community. With clients respecting the space more and appreciating the beauty of the garden, which has a native beehive and supplies herbs and produce used in meal preparation for Wayside Chapel.
Jacq was also complimentary and expressed her gratitude to council for hosting the Waverley Volunteer Expo, explaining that their garden is only possible thanks to the amazing volunteers who have helped create and maintain the space – these volunteers connected with Wayside through council’s Volunteer Expo event! (Our next Volunteer Expo will be held in May 2026).
