Step back in time with the Waverley Historic Society to explore the picture theatres and Cinematic studios of Waverley. In this exhibition, learn about early film studios in Bondi Junction and how they informed the world through news reels. Reminisce about Bondi’s premier entertainment venues from the historic Olympic Theatres to the Bronte Picture Show and the iconic Bondi, Bondi Junction, Rose Bay, Double Bay, and Paddington picture theatres. Relive the thrill of a silent film and learn about key film makers, milestones, and joy of a Saturday afternoon at the pictures.
