We're kick starting the silly season with the return of Light Up Waverley, a festive lights competition for the community! Waverley is known for being vibrant and colourful, and we're excited to bring even more life to the area this summer.
Residents, businesses and schools are encouraged to get into the festive spirit by decorating their outdoor space, whether it's your front yard, balcony, window, school classroom or store front.
Competition launches on Monday, 10 November 2025 and closes 10am AEDT, Wednesday, 10 December 2025.

You have to be in it to win it.
There are some great prizes are up for grabs to all those who enter the competition.
- Best house display: $500 gift card
- Best unit/balcony display: $500 gift card
- Best business display: $500 gift card
- Best sustainable display: $500 gift card
- The Mayor's prize: $500 gift card
- People's choice prize: $500 gift card (voting completed via the Waverley Council Facebook page, more information to come)
Note: Entries into the sustainable display categories do not require the use of lights and can just be festive decorations or artwork.
