Women in Local Government Oral Histories Project
As a part of international Women's Day 2021, we recognise and celebrate the women who have been elected to the Waverley Municipal Council. This exhibition and oral history project captures the triumphs, challenges, and changes for women in local leadership positions.

Eat, Pray, Naches: Jewish Community Stories
More than 15% of Waverley’s population identify as Jewish, making the Waverley area home to the second largest Jewish community in Australia. Eat, Pray, Naches explores the central themes of migration, food, tradition and concepts of joy which are integral to Jewish cultural identity.

Doubly Gifted Annual Bell Jazz Lectures 1993-2014
A series of informal Jazz lectures organised by the Doubly Gifted Committee and Waverley Library in association with an annual exhibition of visual art works by jazz musicians who are, indeed, “doubly gifted”.

Lifeguard History Project
The Waverley Council Lifeguard service started in 1913 and has operated continuously for over a century. In 2001, realising that the history of the Lifeguard service had been largely undocumented, the then Local Studies Librarian and senior Lifeguard at Bondi Beach began conducting interviews with retired Lifeguards and their families.

Seniors Storytelling Workshop
Waverley seniors are a treasure trove of memories. To celebrate these memories and most importantly to collect them, Waverley Council held a Seniors’ Storytelling Workshop at Waverley Library in 2009.
