What safety and hygiene measures are in place?

The health and safety of our staff, patrons and visitors is always our top priority and we are fully complying with the NSW Health checklist for libraries to protect everyone who comes through our doors. This requires that you provide your details for the purpose of contact tracing

As a condition of entry, you must adhere to the following:

  • Contact tracing is mandatory and masks are recommended during your visit;
  • Hand hygiene facilities are available at each entrance to the Library and in key locations;
  • Safe physical distancing of 1.5 metres should be maintained;
  • Follow queuing systems in place and signage clearly displayed;
  • if you are feeling unwell, please do not enter the building;
  • if you have visited a venue with confirmed COVID-19 cases in the past 14 days, please do not enter the building. Find the latest COVID-19 locations here;
  • readers and visitors exhibiting signs of illness may be asked to leave by Library staff or security;
  • you must not move the location of desks or chairs;
  • readers and visitors who do not comply with required conditions of entry may be asked to leave by Library staff or security;
  • aggressive and abusive behaviour will not be tolerated.
  • We ask for your understanding and support in our implementation of these safety measures.

When are you open?

You can now visit the Library in person to return items, browse and borrow or pick up reserved items:

Monday to Friday: 9:30am–9pm
Saturday: 9.30am-3pm
Sunday: 1pm-5pm

What services are available?

Patrons will be able to, browse shelves and check out items using the self checkers.

At this time we are able to accommodate a maximum of 100 visitors on each floor at any one time and still maintain safe physical distancing.

  • Limited number of seats and PCs are available.

What services are not available?

  • Group Study Rooms are now available.

Can I return items?

Returned items can be returned though either the internal book chute when the library is open and via the external book chute after hours.

What about the Children’s Library?

The Children’s area is open for borrowing.
We ask parents to supervise children and ensure that social distancing is observed within our libraries for the safety of the community.
