Soft plastics

Soft Plastics cannot be accepted in Council’s kerbside recycling bins, as this material gets caught in the machinery at the materials recycling facility (MRF) and prevents the recycling plant from running efficiently.

Where can I take my soft plastics for recycling?

As of 8 November 2022, REDcycle has temporarily suspended their collection services. As such, their drop-off locations are no longer available. Consequently, the Recycle It Saturday soft plastics processor has reached capacity and can no longer take household soft plastics

For now, soft plastics should be placed in the red-lidded bin until further notice.
