Grants & funding opportunities for schools

Local schools and early education centres can apply for a Waverley Council Environment Grant for projects that have a positive and desirable effect on the environment. The grants are for 'on the ground' projects, with measurable outcomes.

Some examples of grant funded projects include:

  • Creating a native garden to increase bird life at school
  • Installing a rainwater tank to flush toilets or water a veggie garden

Reducing electricity use through lighting upgrades, solar panels and student led behaviour change programs

  • Installing wicking garden bed that reduce water used for irrigation
  • Cutting the use of single use plastic at the canteen
