Building Futures
Building Futures is a free Council program to help larger strata buildings (25+ units) save money on their energy and water bills and improve environmental performance. Participating buildings work towards reducing common area energy use by 20%, reducing operating costs and carbon emissions.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for Building Futures, buildings must be:
- Strata titled (residential or non-residential)
- 25 units and above (residential limit only)
- Located in the Waverley Local Government Area
Participating buildings receive the following for FREE:
- Energy assessments of common areas, costed recommendations & implementation support
- Up to $1000 matched funding towards one or more implemented efficiency upgrades
- A rooftop solar assessment
- Access to Sydney Water’s WaterFIX program for high-water users
- Access to Waverley Council’s Apartment Recycling resources
What’s involved?
We will need from you:
- A Strata Committee that can approve and implement recommended energy and money saving measures and has financial capacity to do so.
- Written approval to participate, allow access to electricity and water data and participate in a case study.
- A key contact person to liaise with on-site access, building information and implementation solutions.
Participating Buildings
Buildings currently participating in 2023/24 cohort include:
- Bondi Vue, Henderson St, Bondi
- The Bondi, Campbell Parade, Bondi
- 2-4 Ocean Street, Bondi
- 37-43 Paul Street, Bondi Junction
- Queens Park Retirement Village
Recruitment
The next Round of Building Futures will start in July 2024.
Expressions of interest from local buildings are welcome year round by completing our online application form.
Applications will be received throughout the year, with buildings selected in July 2024 for the 2024/25 financial year. The program will launch in August 2024 and run until 30 June 2025.
Complete our online application form |
*Before you start: You will be asked to enter a recent building's common area electricity bill and Strata Plan number, so it can be useful to get these before completing the form.
But wait there’s more…
