COVID Safe Businesses

The NSW Government has prepared COVID-19 safety plans to support businesses re-opening. Waverley Council is encouraging all local businesses to show your commitment to community safety by completing a COVID-19 safety plan and registering as a COVID Safe business. How to become a COVID Safe business:

Step 1: Display your QR Code

Recording customer information digitally is mandatory for many NSW venues and businesses since Monday 23 November 2020. The mandatory digital check in registrations will help keep NSW communities COVID Safe.

Under the new rules, any businesses who do not record contact details of customers via QR codes or other electronic forms will face strict penalties.
These businesses are:

  • gyms
  • hospitality venues (restaurants, cafes, pubs, clubs, small bars, cellar doors, breweries, distilleries, karaoke bars and casinos)
  • funeral homes and crematoria
  • places of public worship.

Other businesses and organisations are encouraged to register as COVID Safe to show their customers and visitors that they are keeping up the highest standards to prevent COVID-19 transmission. For more information, please click here.
