COVID-19 Business Support Program Application

Waverley Council's COVID-19 Business Response Team continues to work on delivering a range of short, medium and long-term measures to support local businesses and the economy through difficult times. Federal and state governments, industry and local organisations are working with us to support these measures where possible and necessary.

In March 2020, Council announced a $1 million per month business relief package with a range of measures to support local small businesses. These measures included the waiving of certain fees and charges while COVID-19 pandemic restrictions are in place and also reviewing commercial rent support to Council-owned property tenants.

As part of Council's commitment to supporting local businesses through these challenging times, we have established a Business Support Program that provides financial relief to small businesses experiencing hardship. The program will continue until pandemic restrictions are lifted.

Council encourages eligible small businesses operating in the Waverley Local Government Area to apply for assistance. The program is open to small businesses as defined by the Australian Tax Office. The COVID-19 Business Support Program provides assistance in the form of:

• Extended credit terms
• Commercial rent in Council owned properties (small businesses only)
• Residential leases
• Licensed sporting groups (if pre-paid)
• External hirers of Community Venues
• Other forms of support not listed

Applications for the Business Support Program must be made online. All applications will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. Once an application has been submitted, Waverley Council will provide a determination on the application via email within 15 days. Please submit your application here.
