Waverley LGA Flood Study
Waverley Council is carrying out a detailed flood study of the Local Government Area (LGA) catchments to define the existing flood behaviour and better understand the flood risks within the LGA. This study will establish the basis for subsequent floodplain management activities and is being prepared to meet the objectives of the NSW State Government's Flood Policy.
Waverley Council will administer the project. BMT WBM, an independent company specialising in flooding and floodplain risk management, will undertake the study and the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage is providing financial and technical assistance.
In late 2017, we asked the community to complete a questionnaire and provide any additional information about flooding in their area. Thank you to everyone who provided feedback. Your participation is vital in ensuring the success of the study, particularly when it comes to flood information.
We are currently working on the draft Study document in preparation of it to go out on public exhibition. If you would like to be emailed when the public exhibition period begins, please click here to register for Council engagement updates.
Check to see if your property is included in the flood planning area by typing in your address into Discover - Council's online mapping tool
