Glenayr Avenue Streetscape Upgrade

Glenayr

Waverley Council is upgrading Glenayr Ave, between Hall St and Warners Ave, to provide the community with an improved streetscape for safer use and a more enjoyable experience.

This concept design has been developed from feedback from previous consultations and several Council-endorsed strategies, including the Community Strategic Plan, Environmental Action Plan, Strategic Asset Management Plan, Our Liveable Places Centres Strategy, and People Movement and Places.

The upgrade includes:

  • Building raised continuous footpaths and intersections
  • Renewing existing raised pedestrian crossings
  • Investigating improvements to existing bike route
  • Planting of additional trees and greenery
  • Installing high-quality paving in commercial areas
  • Improving stormwater drainage
  • Incorporating water sensitive urban design, like raingardens
  • Installing new multipurpose poles, with integrated signage, smart lighting and electric vehicle charging capabilities

Consultation is open 16 September - 10 October 2021. You can provide feedback on the proposed design in the following ways:
