Barracluff Park Upgrade

In late February 2018, Council engaged an external consultant to undertake an annual playground safety audits which highlighted issues with equipment pieces at Barracluff Park, which were beyond their serviceable life and required removal.  As such, Council fenced off the equipment.

Council is working towards finalising the design and documentation for the park and playground upgrade. Electrical, structural, and civil engineers commissioned by Council are nearing completion of construction documentation, turning our concepts and ideas into buildable plans. We have discovered and navigated a few hurdles during this process.

Based on your feedback, we are working closely with a play equipment designer to create a unique play experience, especially for Barracluff Park. The main multi-play equipment will be a one-of-a-kind in Australia. You can view the latest draft of the multi-play equipment here, it’s a work in progress and we’re still refining all the play experiences.

In addition, Council is determined to provide parks and play spaces for all of the community, guided by the Inclusive Play Space Study (find out more about the strategy here). Barracluff Park Playground will be one of the first inclusive play spaces in Waverley.

We thank you for your patience as we work towards upgrading the park.
