Walking

Walking is a great way to get around Waverley. It is well documented that an increase in walking helps create better communities, healthier residents and a healthier and quieter environment.
Walking reduces pollution and greenhouse gas emissions and is a healthy way to incorporate exercise into your daily lifestyle. So try to leave the car at home and walk to school or the local shops.

Waverley has a number of very scenic walks, including the Bondi to Bronte Coast Walk and Dover Heights to Vaucluse Cliff Walk, which can be enjoyed all year round. Please see the links below for further information.

Walking Coastal Sydney

The Walking Coastal Sydney project enhances public access to and recreational enjoyment of Sydney's beautiful and diverse coastline and estuaries. It consists of a series of brochures and integrated small phone applications to map coastal walks from Pittwater to Sutherland. This network integrates with other coastal walks such as the Great North Walk and the Royal National Park.

The development of the network has been a partnership between Sydney Coastal Councils Group, its members council, NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure and The Walking Volunteers.

Go to the Walking Coastal Sydney website for access to copies of all brochures and links to the smart phone application.
