21 Oct 2016- Bondi Park Picnic Shelters Update

On site construction began on 15 August 2016 where the concrete footing for the picnic shelters was installed. Since then, fabrication works for the shelters have been done off-site. This work includes roof frame construction, pre-casted concrete seating and polishing stainless steel posts. From mid next week, the shelters will start being assembled on site.

20 Oct 2016- Waverley Council hosts Sculpture by the Sea for 20th year

Media Release Waverley Council has been very privileged to host Sculpture by the Sea since its inception as a single day exhibition and has worked with David Handley and his team to grow the event into the largest free outdoor sculpture exhibition in the world.

19 Oct 2016- Bronte Pool Update

Waverley Council has been advised by our contractor that, due to a higher than expected wave activity washing into the pool, the opening date of Bronte Pool will now be October 28.

When travelling to the event, it's best to leave your car at home and take public transport. Alternatively, park your car in one of the parking stations in Bondi Junction and walk down to the beach, or catch a bus. We've developed a map of the various ways of getting to and from the event, so you can plan which is the best way for you. Make a day of it and take in the beach atmosphere

June's wild storm created significant damage to our coastal walk. Alternate routes have been put into place to ensure that you can enjoy this scenic walk safely. Fences have been put up to block damaged and dangerous areas along the walk, detours  are in place, and we've also put up detour maps in a number of locations along the coastal walk to guide you.

Waverley Council lodged its submission to the Council Boundaries Review on Friday 26 February.
Our position has always been that we would prefer to stand alone. However, it is well understood the State Government is determined to reduce the number of councils in the state.

Last year, the Waverley Council website received more than 740,000 visits and 35 per cent of these hits were from mobile and tablet devices. In response to these findings, we have launched a mobile friendly version of our website for iOS and Android compatible phones and tablet computers.

On 18 December last year, the State Government announced a Merger Proposal for the Eastern Suburbs. The Proposal mergers Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick City Councils.

12 Jan 2016- State Government announces Council merger timeline

The State Government has announced its intention to have interim councils in place by mid-2016. The Office of Local Government (OLG) has assigned a Delegate to each proposed new council area with Dr Robert Lang appointed to work on examining the Waverley, Woollahra and Randwick proposed merger.
