Sun safety

15 minutes is all it takes to get sunburnt in Australia, even on cloudy days.

  • Stay in the shade between 10am and 3pm.
  • Wear SPF 30+ sun cream and a hat.
  • Drink plenty of water.

Surf safety

  • Always swim between the red and yellow flags.
  • Do not swim alone if you are not an experienced swimmer.
  • Sometimes water that appears ‘calm’ may not always be safer. If you find yourself caught in a dangerous current
  • put up your hand to attract a Lifeguard’s attention
  • stay calm,  float with the current, don’t try and swim back to shore against the current.
  • Never swim under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
