Come down to the beach and have fun while learning about our oceans!

Sunday 1 December 2013, 11.00am - 4.00pm - Entertainment program from 12pm

Pacific Island Entertainment Beach Clean UP ocean

To celebrate Ocean Care Day and the coming summer each year, the Bondi Pavilion presents the annual Ocean Pacifika Festival down at Sydney’s most popular beach destination - Bondi Beach!

There is always something for everyone to enjoy at this free festival. This year we have a full entertainment program of Pacific Island dance and music, rides and fun learning activities for children, cultural and environment stalls to help us learn about our beautiful oceans and how to make sure they stay that way!

There will be plenty of free activities for children. Come and meet Venus the inflatable whale, get up close and personal with sea creatures at the Marine Discovery Centre’s touch tanks, get involved in a beach clean up, browse the many information and cultural stalls on the day and even meet King Neptune!

An experienced Marine Biologist will also be running the ever-popular Rockpool Discovery Tour, where you can get up close to the marine life that live in the North Bondi rockpools. You might get to see seastars, snails, crabs, urchins and the elusive, and tiny but deadly, king of the rockpools - the blue-ringed octopus! The tour will leave from the Marine Discovery Centre at 12:15pm, and bookings are essential. To secure your place, please call 9300 0242 (Wed-Sun, 10am-4:30pm) or email marinediscoverybondi@yahoo.com.au

Activities will be moved indoors in the event of bad weather.
