Our cultural venues provide spaces for artists to meet, exhibit, perform and run activities and events
Bondi Pavilion
The Bondi Pavilion has cultural staff working with artists, presenters, schools and the community to deliver programs including the Bondi Wave, Illuminations, Festival of the Winds, South American and Ocean Pacifika festivals and the Waverley Youth Arts Award. The building is a multi-arts venue with 230 seater Bondi Pavilion Theatre, art gallery, music studios, pottery studios and function rooms for rehearsals, classes, screenings and events.
Waverley Library
Waverley Library has an exhibition space, theatrette and meeting rooms. The library runs a public program of literary and cultural events including the 'The Nib': Waverley Award for Literature, a prestigious $20,000 prize for writers.
Bondi-Waverley School of Arts Building
The Waverley Woollahra Art School is the anchor tenant, running classes in drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics. Waverley Council works with the Art School to run the annual Waverley Art Prize, Council sponsors $7,000 in prize money for artists.
The Artist-in-Residence Program offers free non-residential studios for six artists every year, in return for delivering an community arts project involving Waverley residents.
