Become a Friend

Who are the Friends?

Waverley Library’s Friends group (FOWL) was established in 1993 to provide its members with the opportunity to engage with other book lovers and promote the library service

FOWL members share the same passion for Waverley Library, literature and serving the community. Members regularly plan new initiatives to provide support and advocacy for the library. Why not join today and show how much you love your library?

What do the Friends do?

FOWL volunteers have helped set up library collections, bought artworks, contributed towards special equipment purchases and subsidised many wonderful cultural events for the community.

Friends have plenty of opportunities to socialise and be involved in library happenings. They have their own book club, writers group, and poetry group which all meet monthly. FOWL also distributes a regular newsletter called FOWL Deeds to members.

How to join the Friends?

To become a Fowl member and join in a variety of interesting and fun activities throughout the year, complete the membership form, and return it to the library.
