The Home Library Service is a free to housebound residents in the Waverley area. We select according to your preferences and deliver fortnightly or monthly. The service is also available for those residents who are unable to carry their loans to and from the library. Home Library Service Brochure & Membership Form
Who can join?
Residents who live in the Waverley area who are either temporarily or permanently housebound, due to age, illness or disability. Full time carers of a Home Library Service members are also eligible.
Membership to the service is for a minimum of three months.

How to join
A membership form needs to be signed by a doctor, nurse, or Meals on Wheels officer stating that the incapacity is for a period of more than three months. This form can be either mailed, emailed, faxed or handed in to the library. Home Library staff will contact you to discuss what you like to read, watch or listen to, and the day on which the items will be delivered. A personal profile of your likes and dislikes is compiled to help with selection of material for you. The service is started as soon as possible after the form is received and contact is made.
What’s for loan?
Every effort is made to choose material that meets your preferences. Staff choose items on an individual basis and from a wide range of resources available in the Library. These include:
• Non fiction
• Large print books both fiction and non fiction
• Books on CD/ MP3
• Downloadable books on Audio Read Navigators
• Music CDs
• Books in languages other than English
• Reference and internet searches
How to reserve items?
You can submit your requests for any specific titles or subjects to the Home Library Service driver or call the Service on 9083 8717.
The staff will make every effort to meet your requests either by the material held within our library or by requesting material from another library for you.
