Waverley Community Garden
The Waverley Community Garden is operated by Council under a traditional English Plot system - comprising 26 individual ‘kitchen garden’ plots, 2 double plots for community organisations and 2 gated plots dedicated to Waverley and Mill Hill Child Care centres. The garden also features an ‘edible native border’, composting facilities, a rain water tank, a pond, storage sheds and a shaded meeting space for public activities such as environmental education.
The purpose of the community garden is to provide Waverley residents, who have little or no access to a garden, special needs groups and the general public the opportunity to be in touch with the earth, learn about food production and organic gardening methods.
How to find Waverley Community Garden
Located within the laneway behind, Clementson Park
cnr Ebley Street and Newland St,
Bondi Junction
How to apply?
Individual plots cost $70 per annum including GST. Individuals must be Waverley residents over 18 years, who agree to our terms and conditions. You may lodge an individual application any time.
A waitlist for individual plots does exist. However, we encourage you to fill out an application form and join the Garden Community for $30 per annum as a shared-space gardener, harvest group crops and learn how organic gardening works while you wait for your own individual plot.
Groups or organisations that provide community or recreational services benefiting Waverley residents are eligible to apply. The current annual fee is $110.00 including GST. You may lodge a group application any time, however, you must agree to our terms and conditions.
