Festival of the Winds

Waverley Council's Slidely by Slidely Slideshow

Waverley Council’s Festival of the Winds is one of Sydney’s premier festivals attracting up to 40,000+ visitors to the free fun filled day on iconic Bondi Beach; and is one of the largest and best known kite festivals in the world attracting local and global media coverage.

The festival also features a main stage with live performances, food stalls, roaming performers, kite making workshops, jumping castles, puppet show, face painting, craft making, art show and installations and amateur kite flying competitions.

2018 is the 40th anniversary of this amazing free festival!

Come along to Bondi Park Sunday 9 September 2018, from 11am to 4pm.

How to get to the festival

As large crowds are expected and street parking is limited on weekends, the best way to get to and from Bondi Beach is public transport.

Visitors are strongly encouraged to plan ahead as trains will not be running between Central and Bondi Junction on the weekend of the event due to scheduled track work.

Buses will replace these services and some will run express to Bondi Junction.  Additional Route 333 bus services will also run regularly from the city to Bondi Beach and return.
