    Do you enjoy the coastal walk from Bondi to Bronte and marvel at the monuments in Waverley Cemetery and wonder who is buried there? Why not book a walking tour, led by Friends of Waverley Cemetery Volunteers?

    The cemetery is the resting place of many famous an infamous people including test cricketers, politicians, murder victims, authors, poets and criminals!

    Date: Every Saturday

    Time: 9am - 10.30am

    Location: Attendees are to meet at the Cemetery Office  Entry Porch, via Trafalgar Street, Bronte.

    Cost: $24.18 per person.

    *Monies raised by the Friends of Waverley Cemetery Volunteer Tour Guides is used for memorial restoration work.

    Additional Information:  Attendees should wear comfortable walking shoes, carry water and slip, slop, slap. 
    Refunds are not available however rescheduling can be arranged. 
    Due to the location of the Cemetery and the walking involved, this tour is not suitable for young children or persons with mobility issues.

    Keen to get rid of those unwanted, out of date or leftover household chemicals found in your kitchen, bathroom, laundry, garage or garden shed, but don't know how?

    Don't miss the FREE Household Chemical Clean Out Day on Saturday 9 September from 9am - 3.30pm at Heffron Park, Bunnerong Road, Matraville.

    This free service allows you to safely dispose of chemicals including:

    - Solvents and household cleaners

    - Floor care products

    - Ammonia based cleaners

    - Fluorescent globes and tubes

    - Car batteries

    - Motor oils, fuels and fluids

    - Paint and paint related products

    - Pesticides and herbicides

    - Poisons

    - Gas bottles

    - Fire extinguishers

    - Pool chemicals

    - Hobby chemicals

    - Acids and alkalis

    Only household quantities accepted (20kg or 20L maximum container size).

    Please transport your materials careful and remain in your vehicle at the collection site.

    Based on the coastal northern end of Bondi beach at Dover Heights, this is a spectacular view not to be missed, a great way to be outdoors and make new friends.

    Festival of the Winds set to soar this September!

    Sunday 10 September, 11am-4pm
    Bondi Beach

    The skies above Sydney’s most famous beach, Bondi will come alive for the 39th time at the annual Festival of the Winds. Held on Sunday 10 September, the free event sees Australian and international kite flyers showing off their skills and amazing hand-made creations from 11am with winners announced at 3pm on the day.

    Make your own sky-high creation at one of the kite making workshops offered throughout the day. There’s also food stalls from all over the world, children's activities, demonstrations, puppet shows, and a day-long entertainment program on the main stage, making Festival of the Winds one of Sydney's most loved events.
