Creative ideas

No matter what kind of business you have, your shop-front windows are a potential shopper's first impression. Here are a few ideas on what to consider when dressing your window:

  • Be bright
Ensure your window is bright and easy to see. Make sure the lighting is right to draw your eyes to a particular part of the window or product on display.

  • Tell a story
Instead of Christmas as a theme, consider whether your window is telling the story of a warm, beachy Christmas or a dreamy winter wonderland.

  • Showcase your items
Even if your products aren’t suitable to be included in a window display, get creative and make visual or emotional links to the type of business you run.

  • Surprise your customers
When was the last time you saw something completely amazing in a store window, that you had to tell your friends all about it? It doesn’t happen very often which means you have a golden opportunity to stand out from the crowd.

  • Less is more
You don’t want to clutter your windows with an assortment of products. Less is more. That said, you might consider using mass quantities of a single product – e.g. books in the shape of a Christmas Tree.

  • Light up at night
Even if you aren’t trading at night time, make sure your window looks inviting during the evening. Window shoppers on their way to dinner could turn into potential customers.
