    Presented by Company of Rogues, Boy Out of the Country is a funny, fast-paced and smartly observant play about family, property and the progress of life. Written in the poetic tradition of Banjo Patterson by award-winning playwright Felix Nobis, Boy Out of the Country tells the story of Hunter, a country boy who returns home after a seven year absence to find the family home swept up in a new development.  Sibling rivalry and childhood nostalgia collide with unexpected consequences.

    Australian Russian Theatre presents Nostalgia, a provincial tragedy in 2 acts, based on Tatiana Ufimtseva’s play, A Provincial Town...

    Set in modern day, film star Natalia returns to her small provincial hometown to see her mother after 12 years of absence.  What actually brings her home?  What does she want? Different worlds are bound to clash in a way that leaves no one unscathed.

    Directed by Mikhail Ferentsev. Performed in Russian with English subtitles.

    The film tells the story of a former Australian soldier (Sam Smith.) returning to Afghanistan to seek forgiveness from the family of a man he killed while serving in the war. Bondi Pavilion Theatre is now open for bookings

Situated in the iconic Bondi Pavilion at Bondi Beach, The Bondi Pavilion Theatre is part of the multipurpose arts, community and cultural facility of the Bondi Pavilion.

The 230 seat venue with theatre with bar and balcony over looking Bondi Beach, is placed within easy walking distance to a thriving restaurant, bar and entertainment precinct frequented by a cross-section of locals, Sydney-siders and Australian and international visitors.

How to get to the Theatre

The Bondi Pavilion Theatre is located at Queen Elizabeth Drive, Bondi Beach.
Buses 333,380, 381, 382 or paid parking available at the venue.

History of the Bondi Pavilion Theatre

The Bondi Pavilion Theatre has been an iconic institution in the Sydney Theatre scene since the 1970s. Established by a group of thespians and theatre practitioners from the local area, with the help of Waverley Council staff, refurbished the old Palm Court Ballroom space in the Bondi Pavilion which became the Bondi Pavilion Theatre.

The theatre was officially opened by the Prime Minister of Australia Gough Whitlam in 1974 and since then has seen an amazing range of theatre productions, actors, directors and technicians through its doors. The Bondi Pavilion Theatre has been the training ground to many artists over the decades who have gone on to have great careers in Australia and around the world
