Under 18’s Dance Party

The new High Tide Room in the south eastern corner of the Bondi Pavilion is to be the scene for an under 18’s Dance Party on Friday December 1 from 7.30pm – 11.30pm. There is a need for events catering for under 18’s in the Eastern Suburbs and this need has been recognised by local councils. Waverley, Botany and Randwick councils are all involved in the organisation of this event, which is for under 18’s from Botany to Bondi On the night there will be house, techno and hip hop music, as well R and B music provided by DJ’s. No pass outs will be available after 9pm and it will be an alcohol free venue. A lot of planning has gone into making sure it will run smoothly , thanks to Waverley Action for Youth Services (WAYS) who provide a range of youth activities. Admission $8 (presale) and refreshments will be available. For further information and tickets please contact WAYS: 9365 2500.

Recycling Mobile Phones

Last week when writing about National Recycling Week, which is being held this week from November 20 – 26 I mentioned the service being operated for recycling mobile phones and I mentioned only one centre in our area. However there are a number of other centres – so here is the updated list of shops that will take mobile phones for recycling: Digicall, 501 Oxford Street; Nokie Mobile Phones, Tower 2 500 Oxford Street, Optus Bondi Carousel; Strathfield, 125 Bronte Rd and Telstra 36 Bronte Rd. Don’t put mobile phones which are no longer usable in the garbage – take them to one of these outlets for recycling.
