Sustainability Committee
What does this committee do?
The Committee works with Council to promote sustainable practices and reduce the ecological footprint of the Waverley Local Government Area. It assists council integrate environmental sustainability into council policy, plans and operations and promotes sustainable practices in the community.
How often does the committee meet?
Waverley Council's Sustainability Committee meets every three months in February, May, August and November on the 3rd Wednesday of the month and as needed on an informal basis.
Who attends the meetings?
There are three nominated Councillors; Ingrid Strew, who chairs the meeting, Mora Main and George Copeland and ten community representatives with relevant experience in the area of environmentally sustainable development. The meetings are held on the third floor of Council chambers and are open to the public.
