Environmental Action Plan

Our Environmental Levy has allowed us to implement a number of exciting and cutting edge projects over the past few years.

Council is in the process of creating a long term Environmental Action Plan, which will set the direction (for both Council and our community) in what we want for our environment.
The first draft of this plan has been finalised. It contains targets for Council and the community in the four environmental areas of climate change, water, waste and biodiversity. After extensive community and staff consultation, EAP 2 will be finalised in December 2009.

This Action Plan will finalise targets and develop strategic actions and programs to help us reach our goals over the short and long term.
