Schools

Each day primary and secondary schools in the Sydney, Illawarra and the Blue Mountains regions use about 21 million litres of water. Sydney water supports schools to save water and money.  They also provide educational resources to help educate students and become ambassadors in their local community.

Sustainable Schools in Waverley and NSW

Schools can learn how to save water, energy and enhance their natural environment by getting involved in Council's Sustainable Schools program. To find out what help is available, call our Environmental Education Officer on 9369 8045 or email environment@waverley.nsw.gov.au.

Teachers, staff, parents and students are also encouraged to join the Eastern Suburbs Sustainable Schools Network (ESSSN). This network meets quarterly and is an opportunity for people to share their knowledge and experience, meet others, find out about useful resources and hear from a range of guest speakers. Visit the ESSSN webpage on the 3-Council Reduce Your Footprint website for more information.
