Composting & wormfarming
Council encourages residents to compost or wormfarm, including people living in apartments.
Composting and wormfarming prevent the wasteful transport of food scraps to landfill where they produce harmful greenhouse gases.Together with Randwick and Woollahra Councils, Waverley Council runs the Compost Revolution. This program promotes home composting, growing food locally and connecting with your neighbours. Residents can receive a free compost bin or wormfarm if they complete a workshop or online tutorial and quiz. The program also offers support in terms of advice and assistance for schools and community groups. To join the Compost Revolution, book in for a workshop or do the online tutorial visit www.reduceyourfootprint.com.au
