Yellow lid recycling bin

Council offers residents a fortnightly collection of their yellow lid recycling bin for glass and plastic containers (alternate week to your blue lid bin). Find your collection day here.

Container recyclables should be placed in your yellow bin.  Items which can be recycled in this way include aluminum and steel cans, aerosols, glass bottles and jars and plastic bottles and containers.  Once collected, items in your yellow bin are sorted at a Material Recovery Facility (MRF), squashed into large bales and reprocessed to make new items.  A plastic bottle placed in your yellow bin may end up as a sleeping bag, a plastic chair or even a pen!

Houses and terraces are entitled to have one 140 litre bin. Multi-unit dwellings such as apartment buildings are entitled to have one 240 litre bin per 8 units.

Extra collections and additional bins

We recognise there are times when residents may have extra glass and plastic containers. Please note that Council will not collect containers which are placed on top of or next to your bin.

You can book an extra paid collection for $26 per bin. Additional recycling bins are available for $65 each.

Recycling guides

You can download a recycling guide (2.2MB) for more information on what can and can't go in your recycling bin.
