Footpath Gardens

Footpath Gardens

If you have a grassed nature strip in front of your house, then you have the chance to create a beautiful footpath garden. A footpath garden can help you reduce lawn mowing, provide habitat for native animals and make walking more appealing for pedestrians.

Because nature strips are Council land, you must submit a simple application to plant a footpath garden. Read the easy to follow guidelines before you complete the application form. We also have a suggested planting list to help you if you don’t know what to plant. Print out and read the guidelines and application form below:

We have also devised a planting list with some suggested species to help you choose the best plants for your footpath garden.

You can also obtain hard copies at Council’s Customer Service Centre at 55 Spring St, Bondi Junction.
