Youth Leading the World Forum

Youth Leading the World Congress!

Date to be confirmed

Aimed at 12-25 year olds, this is an incredible personal and professional development opportunity that is not to be missed! The Youth Leading the World (YLTW) congress will inspire, motivate and empower our youth to lead their communities to a sustainable future.

Waverley and Woollahra Councils will be hosting this event for the first time and invite local young people to get involved. Read on to find out how to register your students or youth group.

What is YLTW?

A 3-day program, YLTW connects future movers and shakers, and gives them the skills and confidence they need to take action on sustainability in their communities. Participants will explore local and global sustainability issues, measure and understand their own eco-footprint, and work on action plans to effect change in their lives, schools and communities.

With up to 150 locations set to take part this year across the globe, YLTW is an amazing opportunity for young people to participate locally whilst connecting globally with other congresses through innovative workshops and digital media.

What will participants get out of YLTW?

Participants will get a lot out of the 3-day forum, including:

  • the confidence and skills to speak in front of influential local leaders
  • skills to take action on environmental issues in their schools or community
  • greater awareness of global environmental issues
  • links with like-minded young people locally and across the globe

How will YLTW benefit your school?

Local schools will benefit greatly from having students participate in the forum, including:

  • promoting environmental action within the school
  • networking and partnership opportunities between local schools
  • being a recognised supporter of youth leadership
  • potential local media attention and photo opportunities
