Re-use options...
Remember that your unwanted items can be someone else’s treasure. Reusing items helps to keep them out of landfill so before you throw them out, why not consider some of the following options:
- Check with relatives or friends to see if they might like them.
- Have a garage sale, or get together with some friends and have a stall at Bondi markets Ph: 9315 8988
- Post them on one of the many online re-use sites such as www.e-cycled.com or www.freecycle.org.au
- Contact the Bower Referral Service Ph: 9568 6280 (Mon-Fri 9am – 5pm). They have a referral database with nearly 400 enterprises that accept second hand goods.
- Reverse Garbage may accept re-useable household and commercial quantities of plastic and foam, paper and cardboard, building materials, computer parts, containers, display materials, fabrics, knick-knacks, haberdashery, leather, metals and office furniture. Ph: 9569 3132 or visit www.reversegarbage.org.au
- Donate to charities such as:
- The Smith Family (tel 1300 737 166) or visit www.smithfamily.org.au
- The Salvation Army (tel 13 16 40) or visit www.salvos.org.au
- St Vincent De Paul (tel 9387 7088) or visit www.vinnies.org.au
Please always check with a charity that they will accept your item. Never drop off items without permission.
